Hey, my name’s Rebecca Lazarou. I am a medicinal plant scientist, holistic therapist and educator.
It is an odd combination some may say but my drive for both comes from the same intention- the intention to understand healing.
It is an odd combination some may say but my drive for both comes from the same intention- the intention to understand healing.
When I was 16 I had a dream about medicinal plants and science, and I knew that was exactly what I want to devote my life to.
I have quite literally followed my dreams, and it has been the most wonderful journey.
I chose to do a degree in Biomedical Sciences- Human Biology always with the intention of bridging the gap between science and natural medicines.
I wanted to get a scientific understanding of the body so I could understand how natural medicines work.
I then did a masters in Medicinal Natural Products and Phytochemistry, where I savoured the opportunity to get really geeky about one of my most beloved things- plant medicines.
It is easy for me to say that was one of the best years of my life.
Over the years I have also qualified in an array of holistic therapies too, including massage and hypnotherapy. I believe we need more than science to heal.
Now I am a medicinal plant researcher at Kew Gardens, a science teacher at herbalism schools, and an editor for the academic journal - Journal of Herbal Medicine. I have a separate website for my academic career which you can see below.
READ MY RESEARCHI have created Laz The Plant Scientist to serve as an educational hub, so that you can learn to heal with nature. I will also offer you the highest quality botanical products to help you get the most out of life.
I want to make it easy for people to give themselves some love and nourishment. I want to empower people to do what is best for them so they can enjoy themselves and feel great.
Ultimately, I want people to be able to find joy in life and when we heal, nurture and soothe we can do this.
This hub is a nexus that joins my favourite things; science, herbalism, and healing. When we connect to nature and our wellbeing, we get the most out of life and I am here to help you nurture that connection.
